HISTORY
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and was founded in 2008 by India Cements, a company owned by N. Srinivasan, who is also the former chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
CSK’s first IPL season in 2008 was a successful one. The team was led by former Indian captain and batsman, MS Dhoni, and had some big names like Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, and Muttiah Muralitharan in their squad. CSK finished runners-up that season after losing to Rajasthan Royals in the final.
The following year, in 2009, CSK reached the semifinals but were knocked out by Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, in 2010, the team bounced back and won their first IPL title. CSK defeated Mumbai Indians in the final by 22 runs to clinch their maiden IPL trophy.
CSK continued their winning form in the following years and won the IPL in 2011 and 2018 as well. The team has also won the Champions League T20 twice, in 2010 and 2014.
In 2015, CSK was banned from the IPL for two seasons along with Rajasthan Royals due to a spot-fixing scandal. The team was back in the league in 2018 and made a winning comeback by clinching their third IPL title.
CSK is known for its consistency and stability. The team has retained most of its key players over the years, such as MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja, who have become an integral part of the franchise’s success.
Today, CSK is one of the most popular and loved teams in the IPL, with a huge fan following not only in Chennai but across the country.
CSK is better than all team 💛💛
